One Australian dies of Melanoma every six hours, this insidious disease does not judge, it can affect anyone.  To have a loved one diagnosed with this type of cancer can be a life sentence.  If I do anything in my lifetime it will be to make more people aware of this type of cancer, by spreading awareness. One quarter of melanomas are detected by someone other than the person with the melanoma. It could be detected early by your partner, your mate, your hairdresser, your sibling - there are so many places we cannot see for ourselves, it's so important to look out for each other.

Prevent, Detect then Act, "WATCH OUR MATES BACKS," be more vigilant, have skin checks regularly, look for the early warning signs, if you see anything suspicious or just not quite right, book in and have a skin check.

The kids and myself will take part in the Melanoma March in Melbourne on Sunday March 6th, a 4km run/walk to raise vital money for The Melanoma Institute.  We will be there in support of our Husband and Dad, Wayne, whom was diagnosed with Stage IV Metastatic Melanoma in June 2015.  We've named our team, "Team Banger", quite fitting I guess to all who know him.

We invite anyone to join us in "Team Banger" in Melbourne for the Melanoma March, anyone is most welcome, the more the merrier.  To participate in the walk you just need to Register online by clicking the Register button to the right of the screen, there is a small registration fee which goes directly to the Melanoma Institute.
